It is a herculean task for SMB or startups to generate leads with limited budget. We have to be very careful in Marketing ROI.
Seo is the best way for greater ROI. But it will take considerable amount of time to optimize. For short term you can rely on Google Adwords. Still Google Adwords depend on properly optimized landing page. Seo can’t be ignored at any stages.
Having worked in a startup company and to deliver results with very limited budget, I always experimented free resources to generate/experiment lead generation.
Initially tried Google Adwords using their INR 2000 promotional credits if we spend INR 500. This gave me enough time to experiment and optimize keywords for conversion.
Similarly researching for some other platform to experiment the lead generation possibilities with free credits.
Recently LinkedIn offered $50 (INR 3500) credits to try their ad platform. Initially I have spent certain thousands which resulted only in increasing page followers. So concluded that I can use Linked In free credits for only brand promotion and it will not help in lead generation
But LinkedIn is the best way to reach the decision makers with right message. I was wondering how to crack this.
Recently LinkedIn has come up with a new features call lead forms. It allows the marketer to attach lead form in their business ads. The user don’t want to fill their details for any enquiry. Just a click of a button will pull out information from their profile and deliver it to the marketer.
This new feature has increased my conversion rate morethan 100%. It has given me ROI greater than google adwords.
In this article, I will take you through the steps to create sponsored ads with lead gen forms
Step 1: Go to LinkedIn. Under Work menu, choose “Advertise” option from the dropdown list
Step 2: Click on Create/Manage Ad button
Step 3: Sign in to LinkedIn again if prompted
Step 4: Your Campaign manager page will be opened.
Step 5: Click on “Create Campaign”
Step 6 : Then choose “Sponsored Content” option
Step 7: Enter Campaign Name, Choose the option “ Collect leads using LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms”
Then click “Next”
Step 8: Now either create a “new sponsored content” or choose from existing “available content”. For this example, I am choosing from existing available content. Select and click “Next”
Step 9: Now it will navigate to create a Lead Gen Form page.
Step 10: Choose the opt “Call-to-action” for your campaign from the dropdown list
Step 11: Now click on “Create New Form Template”
Step 12: Now fill the form details like
Form Name
Offer Headline
Offer Detail
Privacy Policy URL
And click “Next”
Step 13: Choose the required fields from the list shown. You will be able to select only 7 fields. Make sure you choose the best 7 fields which will give all the information about the lead and then Click Next
Step 14: Now give a customized thank you message and link to your website. Then Choose the newly created form and then click next
Step 15: Now choose the target audience and click next
Step 16: Now choose the
Bid type
Bid amount
Daily budget
Start date and
End date
And Click Launch Campaign
Step 17: You can find the lead collection data in the below screen
Now to know, How to download the collected leads? Please follow the steps below
Step 1: Now go to Tools on the top menu. Click Tools, and choose “Lead Forms” from the dropdown
Step 2: From the campaign, click on the “Download Leads” Link.
It will download in csv format
